2mm response

We watched a video called 2 Million Minutes. It followed six teenagers from three different countries. It made the American teenagers seem very lazy and unproductive. The people from China and India had no life other than studying and taking tests, trying to get into the best colleges so they could persue the prestigeous jobs that their parents push them to have. I felt sorry for those people. I think Sra. Bivens wanted us to become more motivated and try to compete with the intellegence of these people. It just made me feel luckier to be an American who can follow their dreams and where it is not unheard of to focus on one's artistic talents and persue a career in that area. I know that when I am on my death bed, I will not wish that I had studied harder or worked more hours. I appreciate the quality of life that I have, while the teens in those other countries are missing out. They may look down on us for taking schooling less seriously, for hanging out with friends and having a life, but they are the ones who cannot see the big picture. Most Americans take things like this for granted, and watching this video has made me realize how good we have it.

1a/1b

Mi dia de escuela fue larga. Ellos limpia y el quimicas duele mi cabeza.

Venezuela

I made my postcard about Venezuela. It's located in South America, and the capital is Caracas. I thought it was very interesting that they only wear shorts at the beach there. They get lots of visitors, and usually have a room reserved for them. Education is not strongly enforced there, and many kids do not finish their education.
Venezuela has a tropical climate with wet and dry seasons. Most people do not have cars, so buses and taxis are used a lot.
90 percent of the country's religion is Roman Catholic. They hug while patting each other on the back as a greeting. The Andes Mountains are in Venezuela. Their governmet is a republic. They have a president. It is unacceptable to slouch or prop up your feet their. Families are close knit.
